The world’s richest man with a net worth of $131 billion, Amazon billionaire Jeff Bezos, recently set California’s home sale price record by paying $165 million for David Geffen’s Warner estate in Beverly Hills. Geffen purchased the estate in 1990 for $47.5 million in an all cash deal.
Bezos’ purchase of the Warner estate is now the most ever paid for a home in California. As Elegant Properties reported at the end of last year, Lachlan Murdoch’s $150 million purchase of Bel-Air’s Chartwell estate, also famously known as “The Beverly Hillbillies” mansion, was at the time the highest purchase for a home in California. Bezos has now broken that record.
The Warner estate features eight bedrooms, a card room, screening room and domed bar. The nine acre property has a golf course, fern gardens, fountains, sculptures, pool and tennis court. The 300 foot tree-lined driveway ends with a circular motor court.
