The cannabis industry is booming these days thanks to California’s legalization of recreational marijuana and our stressful time of living with a pandemic. And top cannabis executives like Carissa Davino are seeing the benefits.
Davino is a Chicago resident however she’s spending the majority of her time in Los Angeles where many of her business interests are headquartered. Davino is the sole managing member of Double Barrel LLC, which is the corporate entity that owns a patented dual-chamber vaporizer allowing cannabis connoisseurs to vape two cartridges at once. Davino is president of Avanzato Technology, which manufactures popular devices like vaporizers, e-cigarettets and vape pens. Davino is also one of the largest stakeholders in Sunniva, a publicly-traded cannabis firm based in Vancouver.
Since so many of her business interests are in Los Angeles, Davino decided to set some roots last year by purchasing a $9 million contemporary built on speculation and completed in 2018. The house easily merges natural elements like light, water and glass while featuring exotic details such as European hardwood floors and Italian marble. The main feature in the living room is the fireplace inset in an impressive black wall of marble.
The adjoining kitchen features high-end Miele appliances. There are seven bedrooms in the almost 6,500 square foot house however the star is the upper-floor master retreat which boasts its own living room, heated floors, dual showers, toilets and vanities in the spa-like bathroom. The master also has a closet/dressing room with a wraparound balcony for views of the city lights. Additional views can be seen from the 1,000 square foot rooftop terrace that is perfect for entertaining with its bar, jacuzzi and lounge area. The small .24-acre lot does have a negative-edge swimming pool with inset spa in the backyard. The house is of course a smart house where the entire property can be remotely controlled with a Control4 system. Lights, sound and cameras are adjusted or monitored from the touch of an iPad.
Michael La Montagna of Compass repped Davino and Ben Bacal as well as Lolita Pamgramyan of Revel Real Estate held the listing.
